OUR FOUNDER
Satyajit is an architect and experience designer whose work explores spatial, kinetic, and light-based art interventions. Before founding the award-winning art studio Architecture Social Club, he spent several years at Sir Norman Foster’s practice, working on high-profile projects for Apple across the U.S., China, Brazil, and India.
Trained at the Royal College of Art and the University of Cambridge, Satyajit brings a research-driven approach to his creative practice. His career spans architecture and large-scale art installations, informed by early experiences in the music industry—where he founded the iconic music night Firefly, working with seminal artists like Justice, Hot Chip, and Jeff Mills.
As Creative Director of Architecture Social Club, Satyajit has led projects for Microsoft, film director Zhang Yimou at Beijing’s National Centre of Performing Arts, The Crown Estate, Liberty London, and the Smithsonian. His work bridges architecture, art, and engineering to craft transformative sensory experiences, with a central commitment to public installations that ignit
e collective imagination and transcend social barriers. He specialises in translating collective values into meaningful experiences that foster deep audience connections. At ASC, he cultivates an inclusive creative culture, ensuring collaboration and diverse voices shape the process.
Beyond his practice, Satyajit is a Teaching Fellow at the Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL) and delivers guest lectures at institutions such as the University of the Arts London (UAL) and Condé Nast College (Vogue). He has also spoken at internationally renowned design conferences, including Design Indaba.
