PIG
“ASC’s inflatable pig, with its rhythmic breathing motion, symbolic of the enduring message of Pink Floyd's iconic 'Algie,' reimagining it as a living entity that bridges past and present.”
The pig as a representation of the ruling classes has, arguably, never ceased to remain relevant. Pink Floyd’s 1977 album ‘Animals’ is a reference to George Orwell’s 1945 novella Animal Farm, and as a result, the pig flying over Battersea Power Station has now become an iconic image.
Our intervention is a modern take on this famous inflatable pig. Beneath its superficial and shifting surface, the pig is still a pig. Nothing has changed.
